Nick Lim got his very first influence in design back in 2003 when he created his first Xanga (online web blog) webpage. He was so amazed on how HTML coding affected how a webpage appeared that he decided to take a web design class at American River College. During the course, he learned about the basics of HTML, CSS, and how to create and format webpages. Using the knowledge, he created several web pages for personal and small business uses.
He later decided to expand his field by learning both print and web design. Since then Nick has become proficient in the well-known Adobe programs such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Flash, and Dreamweaver.
The name "Avoisive Media" comes from a long and somewhat strange story. Nick was using the word "avoisive." Not knowing that is was not a real word, he thought it meant avoiding someone. Years later thinking about how cool the word "avoisive" sounds, he decided to use it as his brand name.
